Advanced Leadership Training: Building a Community that Values Positive Relationships

Through a Provincial Parents Reaching Out Grant, Community Builders, Ward 22 School Trustee Jerry Chadwick and Parent Volunteers, have organized a series of workshops for parents and children on the topic of addressing bullying in our schools.  We encourage parents – most especially those who have attended a Community Builders workshop over the past few months – to join us for 2 dates in May:

Advanced Leadership Training: Building a Community that Values Positive Relationships

Workshop Dates:  Monday, May 13th and Thursday, May 30th 2013.

The workshops will be held at: William G. Miller Jr. P.S. at 60 Bennett Road

Schedule for each evening:

Light supper from 5:30 pm to 6:15 pm
Free Childminding – opens at 6:00 pm
Workshop starts at 6:15 pm and ends at 8:45pm

Registration Required:

OR Call 416-526-0413 to register over the phone

Through this 2-session workshop, parents will have the opportunity to:

  • Network with other parents and be part of a group of community members who are addressing bullying and exclusion in our schools
  • Develop more advanced skills for communicating with your children
  • Become more skilled at listening for the underlying hurts in bullying and conflict situations
  • Be better able to build positive relationships with principals, teachers and youth
  • Think together about “whole community responses” to bullying and exclusion – how the generations can work together for positive change
  • Learn leadership skills that you can share with your children

Please note that although Level III workshops are intended primarily for those who attended either one or both of the introductory Community Builders Workshops, we are opening a few seats for first time participants.   Everyone is invited to join us for both workshops, and will get the most out of attending both sessions, but if you are only able to join us for one date, please do sign up.

Please register as soon as possible through the online registration form at: or by calling 416-526-0413.
