School Council Meeting – Elections

The Council meets roughly every 4 weeks and is active in consulting with the Principal and staff on local school, board‐wide and provincial educational issues.

The first School Council Meeting of the year will be held on Tuesday September 16th, 2014, at 7:00 p.m. in the Resource Centre(Library). Elections for this year will be held at this meeting. If you are interested in holding a position with the council you must attend. You don’t have to run for a position to attend.

Everyone is welcome. Please join us!

With this opportunity we would like to remind you that the next meeting of the Council is scheduled to be held next Tuesday May 20th at 7pm in the school library. This will be the last meeting of the Council for the 13/14 school year.

Workshop Connecting Parents With Teens – May 28/14 – 5:30-7:30PM

The New Millennium Teen – Helping your child navigate challenging years in a challenging time

With warmth and humor, this workshop will explore the delicate bond between teens and their parents. Parents will learn to balance empathy with limit setting to strengthen and deepen their relationships with their teens. Connected Parenting will offer parents effective strategies to avoid power struggles, help their teens make safe choices and instill in them confidence and resilience.   In this workshop, you will learn about some mental health issues youth might struggle with, how to spot the warning signs, and what you as a parent can do to support your teen.
